Robert Stephen “Steve” Monks, Attorney at Law
Steve grew up in Houston Texas in a large, close-knit Irish family so he places great value on family. He graduated from South Texas College of Law Houston and began his law career with his two older brothers in Houston, Texas in 1987. In 2002 Steve moved to North Carolina and shortly thereafter, began the Monks Law Firm. He is licensed in both North Carolina and Texas.
Steve has had a storied career, having tried over 150 jury trials and representing thousands of clients over the past 30 years involving most every kind of legal issue imaginable. He understands litigation from both sides, having served as a special master in Family District Court and as a certified mediator. Additionally, he has authored published legal works and been a continuing education speaker.
Todd Wells, Attorney at Law
Todd was born and raised in North Carolina and attended the University of Tulsa College of Law. He has practiced law in Wake County since 2003 and has extensive experience in Family, Criminal and Traffic Defense, including over 12 years as a Court Appointed Attorney. Todd understands the stress and emotional turmoil that is all too often involved in legal cases and he takes pride in helping clients through difficult legal problems. Todd’s goal is to fight hard for your legal rights.
Brenda Franco Garibaldi, Senior Legal Assistant/Legal Office Manager
Brenda has four years of experiencing working in law firms, including three working with Steve. Her hard work and desire to learn have helped her rise to the position of Office Manager. She has the passion and dedication to serve those in need and her empathetic manner helps her relate to clients. Her areas of specialization include immigration, family law, and traffic law.
Brenda was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States in search of a brighter future. She graduated from Person High School in Roxboro, NC, became a Certified Notary Public in 2014 and is currently continuing her studies in the Paralegal Technology Program at Durham Technical Community College.
Jeimy Parra Pachon, Legal Assistant
Jeimy was born and raised in Colombia, South America and Immigrated to the United States in 2010. She graduated from Northern High School in 2012 and became a Certified Notary Public in 2016.
Jeimy joined Monks Law Firm in 2018 after working in the legal field for four years. Her passion for law motivated her to enroll in the Paralegal Technology Program at Durham Technical Community College to help her meet her goal of helping clients with their legal issues and relieving their stress.
Toni Wade, Legal Assistant
Toni was born in Raleigh and raised in Garner, graduating from Garner High School in 1998. She worked for Apple, Inc. for 7 years but law was her passion. Her previously acquired technological knowledge has been an asset as she follows her dream of working in Family Law.
Since joining Monks Law firm in 2018, Toni has worked hard to support her clients and to help them follow the appropriate legal process. Her goal is to help clients avoid conflicts which arise in Family Law when clients are not heard correctly or are not aware of their legal rights.
Tram Le, Legal Assistant
Tram was born in South Vietnam and immigrated to the United States with her mother at the age of 19. She studied Information Technology but soon realized her interest is in law after obtaining experience serving the Vietnamese community with their immigration needs. Tram’s goal is to assist her clients in becoming US citizens and reuniting them with their families.
Gabriela Castellano Hernandez, Legal Assistant
Gabriela was born in Mexico and immigrated to North Carolina when she was just 3 years old. She is the youngest of three siblings and is fluent in English and Spanish. She attended Apex High School and graduated from Central Wake High school. Gabriela is motivated and driven by her desire to help others.
Kimberlyn Mello, Legal Assistant
Kimberlyn was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and immigrated to the United States when she was five years old. She obtained an associate degree in General Business Administration from Wake Technical Community College and is currently pursuing a higher degree in Global Business Administration and Human Resources.
Kimberlyn joined the Monks Law Firm legal team in 2019 and is very eager to continue learning as she begins a new journey in the legal field. Her goal is to provide the best customer service to all clients of the firm and to help them resolve their legal issues.
